It was bright and sunny start to the day and +7 by 8.30am. The temperature reached +20 and it was a hot and sunny day.

Introduction

When people consider making the move to Alberta, Canada, one of the most frequently
asked questions is "what's the weather REALLY like?" We had the same question ourselves before we moved here. We tracked weather stats on the internet, but that only takes you so far.

So, we thought people moving here would welcome a simple daily account of the weather in and around Okotoks & High River, Alberta, where we live and work. The account should also give readers some idea of the weather in Calgary too.

The figures in brackets show the cumulative number of times it has either rained or snowed since we started this blog. When there has only been a trace of snow or rainfall we will exclude it from the cumulative counts on the grounds that there is no impact (eg: shovelling snow!) on our day to day living.

We take the stats that we show on the individual posts from the Okotoks weather history website. We can only update the figures as frequently as the data is published.
