After over 2 years of monitoring Okotoks and surrounds weather, we felt it was now time for our daily report to come to an end. Hopefully, the historical data on this site will still help those looking to move out to Calgary and surrounds, be that to visit or to settle here, hopefully using Eamonn's excellent Real Estate & Relcoation service.

It was quite a mild start and +0.1 by 9.30am. It was quite a bright first thing but it clouded over fairly quickly. We had a very brief storm at around 2.30pm, where the wind quickly picked up and it started to snow. It was over in less than 30mins and the sun was shining again.

It was around -3.5 first thing and it was very bright and sunny. The sky was bright blue and cloudless.  It warmed up to around +6 and it was quite nice in the sunshine.

It was around -7 first thing and it did seem to be warming up, but it still felt quite cold. It was quite a bright day, but it wasn't very sunny. We had the following weather warning in place, but we didn't get any of it.

Wind warning for: Okotoks, High River & Claresholm

Westerly winds 80 gusting 110 km/h this afternoon.


A Pacific disturbance moving across Alberta today will generate strong westerly winds in the Crowsnest Pass region, western sections of Cardston region and southwestern sections of Okotoks region. Winds of 70 gusting to 110 km/h will develop this afternoon and expected to diminish in the evening.

It was around -13 first thing and it was quite cloudy and white outside. The cloud did clear and we saw some blue sky and sunshine. It was a fairly cold day, but not too bad.

It had snowed lightly overnight, but not as much as we might have thought. It was -13 first thing and cloudy to start with although it did brighten up briefly and it didn't feel too bad on the whole.

It was a much colder start at around -10.  It was a bright and sunny day on the whole, and the snow was still melting when in the sunshine.  The day took a turn for the worst very quickly at around 4pm and it looked as though we might have some snow.  The temperature was also beginning to drop quite quickly.

It was a very mild start and +2 at 9am and the snow was already continuing to melt. It was quite a cloudy start but there was blue sky over the mountains. The skies continued to clear and the sun was shining for most of the day. It was showing +10 on our front porch at noon and around +6 elsewhere.
There was a lovely red sky as the sun was setting too.

It was a fairly mild start and only -8 first thing. It was a sunny and bright day and actually felt very nice in the sunshine. It was quite cold out of the sun, but a nice day on the whole. Lots of snow has been melting in the sunshine.

It was another very cold start, but the sky was blue and cloudless.  It was sunny for most of the day, but we did begin to get a bit of light wispy cloud around mid-afternoon.
