It was very sunny start and the sky was bright and cloudless. It was +14 at 08.30am and warm. It was +23 at around 4pm, when it started to cloud over and cool down a little.

The wind did pick by around 6.30pm, it went quite dark and started to rain. The wind and rain didn't last long though, probably not even half an hour.

There is a weather watch in place this afternoon in Okotoks, High River & Claresholm

Severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon.

This is an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds. If threatening weather approaches take immediate safety precautions.

Thunderstorms have developed along the foothills. A few of these thunderstorms may become severe with hail approaching 2 cm and gusty winds.
