17th September 2009 - Thursday

High: 21.0
Low: 12.0
Rain:(43)
Snow:(56)
Days we didn't see any sun: (31)
Days swept snow from drive (1)
Days shovelled snow from drive (20)

It was a bright start to the day but there was a fair bit of cloud cover. It was +16 at 08.30am and warm. There looked to be the first sprinkling of snow on the mountains this morning.
It was a warm and sunny morning but the wind really picked up for about an hour at around noon and it started to cloud over. We had cloud for most of the afternoon but by around 4.30 it had started to clear and the sun shone. It stayed warm all day. Just as an example of how quickly the weather can change, the first pic was taken just before 1pm, the second one at around 1.30pm and the last one just before 5pm.

Yes-the weather can change amazingly fast, as I have experienced in Calgary before!

Couldn't find any evidence of snow on the hills yesterday though, after having glanced at the Banff webcams.(Maybe it had melted by the time I looked)

The snow was at one end of the mountains, and I have no clue where that range might have been. I can send you a pic if you like, although not very good as annoyingly I had camera on wrong setting!
