It was a grey, cloudy and overcast start. It was +3 at 8.30am, but still very windy which made it feel much colder. It also started to snow lightly. It snowed for most of the day, but it didn't stick. The wind had died down by mid afternoon, but it was a very grey and cold day.

The following wind warning is in place for most of southern Alberta.

Northwesterly winds gusting to 100 km/h diminishing this evening.

An intense low pressure system over Southwestern Saskatchewan will continue to track southeastwards moving into North Dakota by the evening. Behind the low strong northwesterly winds are expected through much of Southern Alberta. Wind speeds of 70 gusting to 100 km/h will occur before gradually diminishing this evening.

10 to 15 cm of snow are forecast over the Cypress Hills. This snow will combine with strong northwesterly winds to occasionally reduce visibilities in blowing snow. Conditions here will improve overnight as snowfall and winds gradually taper off.

Strong winds are no longer forecast in Pincher Creek however with the passage of the low snow is expected to develop late today. Snowfall amounts of 10 cm are forecast near the international border. Snow will taper off Wednesday morning.
