It was a cloudy start to the day, but still warm. The cloud cleared by mid morning and the sun was shining. It was +20 at 11am. By around 4pm, the thunder could be heard in the distance and the wind had really picked up. By 5pm it had clouded over again and started to rain.

There was a severe storm warning as outlined below, but we didn't get anything too bad. Claresholm did get the golf ball sized hail though.

SEVERE STORM WARNING: At around 5.30pm there were a number of severe storm warnings for the Foothills including: Longview, Cayley, High River, Aldersyde, Black Diamond, Claresholm, Stavely & Okotoks

Environment Canada Meteorologists are tracking a severe thunder storm near Claresholm moving South East at 25km/h. This storm has a history of producing hail as large as golf balls. This is a warning that severe thunderstorms are imminent or occurring in these regions. Remember, some severe thunderstorms produce tornadoes. Listen for updated warnings.
