The wind had really picked up by mid-day and there was the following weather warning in place:

Wind warning for Okotoks, High River & Claresholm

Strong west to southwesterly winds of 70 to 100 km/h are occurring over the southwestern foothills. Winds are expected to diminish this afternoon but may return overnight as a second weather system moves across the northern sections of Alberta.

Waterton Park Gate - 106 km/h
