The wind had really picked up by mid-morning and there was the following weather warning in place:

Wind warning for Okotoks, High River & Claresholm

Strong southwest winds of 60 gusting to 80 km/h are now occurring in Calgary, Drumheller, Brooks, and Coronation regions, and are expected to persist until the early evening.

Strong winds will continue to gust at times to 100 km/h intermittently in the Crowsnest Pass region and over western sections of the Cardston region and southern sections of the Okotoks region. These conditions are expected to persist through much of the day.

It was +13 by mid-day and the wind had died down considerably by around 5pm.
