It was a fairly overcast start to the day, but it was very warm and temperatures reached around +23. It started to get very windy at around 3pm and by around 5pm it had gone quite dark. It started to rain quite heavily and we had some thunder and lightning. With the wind and the rain, the temperature dropped dramatically to around +12 and it felt really quite cold. There were TV reports showing golf ball sized hail falling in Calgary, which did quite a lot of damage to cars and some buildings.

There is currently a severe thunderstorm warning in Calgary, but Okotoks has not been inncluded in the warnings.
